British heritage brands Belstaff and Kent & Curwen present their latest collections alongside Bobby Abley and Lou Dalton whose collections are immediately available to buy.
The collection that really stood out the crowd for innovation and creativity was Stefan Cooke, his collections are sinister yet collaborative with different shades of brown, blue and cream’s he’s known as the rising designer obsessed with boring clothes. His catwalk pieces were created with synthetic materials including acrylic, polyester and elastic. The designs were styled with found vintage handbags encased with acrylic, which seemingly floated alongside the models. Stefan Cooke is definitely the one to keep your eyes on
Belstaff was found in 1924 and known for the innovation of the first water resistant wax cotton jacket. He’s a man of distinction a fearless explorer and fashion enthusiast with designs that discover an approachable luxury modern lifestyle. His 2018 collections start with blocked out shades of colour such as, reds, browns, mustard, and mint embossed with patterns to emphasis the uniqueness of the jackets.
Lou Dalton is one of the few female designers on the British Menswear scene she has fast become a figurehead for homegrown talent at London Collections Men. Her USP is having an innate & all-encompassing understanding of what men want from their clothes practicality, a dash of adventure and above all else, something that makes the wearer look damn good, however, the bleached - denim, Peptobismol pink cotton or brown corduroy that’s her showcase fabric for the season, you can guarantee that every item is cut to perfection with the skilled hand of a designer who knows their craft. It’s this talent that has led Lou Dalton to becoming one of the most in-demand designers in the fashion industry.
The catwalk showcased Dalton’s collections, which have often been inspired by the men in her life its masterful menswear and as the designer herself would say, “Charm, Charm, And Charm”.
For the cheeky chap, Bobby Abley is known for his unique charm, wit and humour, blending nostalgic and playful imagery with a contemporary menswear design. Launching his namesake label in 2012. Bobby Abley is one of the breakthrough menswear names of recent years and his collection certainly was a surprise using bright lavish colours, iconic symbolic characters such as, Tweety Pie, Bugs Bunny and Sylvester definitely made an impact and instantly recognisable he is one of the unstoppable designers who has the innovation the fashion industry needs.
Looking at all of the designer talents the future forecast of the men’s fashion industry as a community is ever expanding, however, it shows that there is creativity, diversity and innovation within the capital.
