We very rarely showcase properties that are up for auction as they tend to get snapped up very quickly, but only a few days ago, we came across two that we had to share with you. Both these properties we believe are stunning and would make fantastic addition to any property portfolio.
So let's start with Haras De L'Ermitage, located in Normandy, France. This area of France is normally overlooked but is actually a lovely part of the country. It is easy to travel to Paris by either car or helicopter and you are only a few hours from Bordeaux, world-renowned for producing award-winning wine, and home to Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, Margaux and Haut-Brion. For those of you who are not so keen on the heat in the summer, this will be right up your street as temperatures in the summer reaching around 21 Celsius and in the winter around 4 Celsius.
What about the property?
Haras de L’Ermitage, one of the most prestigious rural estates in the region of Normandy known as the “Golden Triangle,” an area renowned for its racehorse breeding and booming tourist industry. This property would make a good project for those who what to make their mark, but alternatively, could be developed into a hotel or resort. With over 270 acres of land, 46 loose boxes, stables, indoor arenas as well as additional farm buildings.
Build in the '80s, the main house was built in the traditional French manor house style, meaning there are eleven bedrooms and multiple reception rooms. On the land, you also have farmhouse cottage, helipad, event hall, gymnasium and sauna, swimming pool with pool house, two tennis courts, formal gardens, sculptures and four artificial lakes. The grounds have previously been used as a nine-hole golf course and the landscaping is still in place, allowing for this use to be easily reinstated.
“It is very unusual for Normandy estates of this size to be brought to the open market. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for buyers to be able to name their price for a development opportunity of an impressive 275 acres. The estate has huge potential for commercial use, either as a country hotel, golf resort or equestrian facility.”
